With energy prices climbing and the push for sustainability growing stronger, a hotel in the Czech Republic was facing two major challenges: soaring electricity costs and unreliable power from the grid. Turning to RENAC Energy for help, the hotel adopted a custom Solar+Storage solution that’s now powering its operations more efficiently and sustainably. The solution? Two RENA1000 C&I All-in-one Energy Storage Systems paired with two STS100 Cabinets.
Reliable Power for a Busy Hotel

This hotel’s proximity to the Škoda factory puts it in a high-demand energy zone. Important loads in the hotel like freezers and critical lighting rely on a stable power supply. To manage rising energy costs and mitigate risks of power outages, the hotel invested in two RENA1000 systems and two STS100 cabinets, creating a 100kW/208kWh energy storage solution that backs up the grid with a reliable, green alternative.
Smart Solar+Storage for a Sustainable Future
The highlight of this installation is the RENA1000 C&I All-in-one Hybrid ESS. It’s not just about energy storage—it’s a smart microgrid that seamlessly combines solar power, battery storage, grid connection, and intelligent management. Equipped with a 50kW hybrid inverter and a 104.4kWh battery cabinet, the system can handle up to 75kW of solar input with a maximum DC voltage of 1000Vdc. It features three MPPTs and six PV string inputs, each MPPT designed to manage up to 36A of current and withstand short-circuit currents up to 40A—ensuring efficient energy capture.

With the help of STS Cabinet, when the grid fails, the system can automatically switch to off-grid mode in less than 20ms, keeping everything running without a hitch. The STS cabinet includes a 100kW STS module, 100kVA isolation transformer, and microgrid controller, and power distribution part, effortlessly managing the shift between grid and stored energy. For added flexibility, the system can also connect to a diesel generator, offering a backup energy source when needed.

What sets the RENA1000 apart is its built-in Smart EMS (Energy Management System). This system supports multiple operation modes, including timing mode, self-use mode, dynamic expansion of transformer mode, backup mode, zero export, and demand management. Whether the system is operating on-grid or off-grid, Smart EMS ensures seamless transitions and optimal energy use.
Additionally, RENAC’s smart monitoring platform is designed for various energy systems, including on-grid PV systems, residential energy storage systems, C&I energy storage systems and EV charging stations. It offers centralized, real-time monitoring and management, intelligent operation and maintenance, and features such as revenue calculation and data export.
